Description

Here’s a marvel of modern technology – a yard stick that is sturdy and straight when in use for measuring, but rolls into a coil that will fit in your coin purse or pocket.
A roll up yard stick/ruler that I picked up in 1966 at the Gilbert’s Texaco grand opening in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. My father sold tires to them and the whole family was in attendance that day. Hot dogs, those little-triangular-flag-banners, the whole works.
The yard stick is scratched a bit from rolling it and extending it a thousand times since then but as there are few moving parts, it’s in remarkably good condition. Most important, it has never been stepped-on or damaged. Strangely satisfying, it retracts and expands as precisely and smoothly as the day my dad gave it to me.
Must-have memento and collectible for you oil & gas collectors, measuring tool collectors, or vintage/collectible hoarders like me.
Thanks for your consideration.
